A Balmy day in Berkshire
The 2nd fixture of our 2013 season saw us up against Bradfield Waifs on a beautifully hot bank holiday Sunday
A  fixture we came off second best in last season meant we were even more up for the fight this year, against this well known cricket cup side

Our captain for the day, G Morris won the toss and decided to bat first.

Our talented opening combo of C Helings (10) and M Jones (4) got us off to a steady start but after two quick wickets we were suddenly 21 for 2!

T Dann (26) in at number three brought some calmness to the crease. He and J Macey (34) who crafted a solid innings put on a 50 partnership

No one managed to push on to a half century but M Webb (36) slapped a few quick 4′s and 6′s to up the run rate and the most notable innings was our resident actor M Fromson (not out 46) who looked in fantastic touch. Unfortunately our last man G Morris (0) made no contribution and failed to hold out to help M Fromson reach his first OMCC 50.

The Waifs started their innings with the same confidence as last season and rushed to 63 for 0.

M Webb (4 wickets) and T Dann (5 wickets) kept the pressure on and with this and some impressive fielding, OMCC caused a middle order wobble and suddenly we were back in the game with the score at 80 for 3.

With 4 out of 4 catches and the T Dann and M Webb show in full fight, the OMCC’s pressure reduced the hosts to 156 all out.

Two out of two for the season!!!!

Another win in 2013 (OMCC won by 38 runs) and another great day out where we were extremely well looked after by the Waifs once again.

Catch of the day:

Skipper George Morris somehow managed to get himself under this “skyer” despite having his eyes shut!! Thus dismissing the Waifs danger man. Top effort skip!
